Delete Your SourFriend Account

You can delete your SourFriend account in the app or request deletion from this website without reinstalling or opening the app.

1. Delete in the app

Open SourFriend Settings and select Delete Account. Review the confirmation and submit the request. Once an authenticated request is accepted, we deactivate the account and end access immediately. Data removal then runs in the background and completes only after the required deletion checks succeed.

2. Request deletion outside the app

Email us from the address registered to your SourFriend account when possible. Include the account email address and clearly state that you want the SourFriend account and associated data deleted.

Email an account deletion request · Open the customer support form

In the support form, choose SourFriend app and Something else, then state that you are requesting account deletion.

Request and verification process

  • ·An accepted authenticated in-app request immediately deactivates the account and signs you out, then starts background deletion. A website request starts after we reasonably verify the account, and we acknowledge it through an available reply address.
  • ·To protect the account, we may send a one-time verification link or code to the registered email address, or ask for limited account details. We will never ask for your password.
  • ·We check required deletion from active SourFriend systems and any applicable earlier provider-hosted memory systems, retry incomplete steps, and mark the workflow complete only after the required checks succeed. This does not mean that every copy is erased instantly.

3. Data removed from active systems

  • ·All active SourFriend account identity and authentication rows that belong to the same normalized-email identity group, together with the associated profile and account-scoped consent records stored by SourFriend
  • ·Account-related starter, feeding, check-in, care-plan, device-association, activity and operational records; stored starter and letter photos; and subscription and entitlement records in active SourFriend systems.
  • ·AI text chat history, reported responses, Learning Insights and saved memories held in active SourFriend systems. Where memory remains in an earlier provider-hosted memory system, the required remote deletion is also verified. AI Chat photos are processed without being persisted in SourFriend’s server storage, chat history or Memory; separate temporary device caches and provider processing follow the limitations described in this policy.
  • ·Account associations to notification-token records stored by SourFriend. SourFriend does not store the installation-scoped FID in its account database or use it as the account identifier, and account deletion does not delete that FID. Previously transmitted analytics remains subject to Firebase retention and deletion processes.
  • ·The deletion workflow completes only after the required database, account-owned photo-storage and applicable legacy-memory deletion checks succeed. Installation-scoped identifiers, previously transmitted optional analytics, backups and provider-controlled records follow their applicable retention and deletion processes. Deleting a SourFriend account does not delete the store-transaction records independently held by Apple or Google.

4. Backups and limited retention exceptions

  • ·Residual copies may remain temporarily in access-restricted backups until they expire or are overwritten under the backup schedule. They are not ordinarily accessed or returned to active service except when needed for disaster recovery, security, or legal obligations; restored data remains subject to access controls and the applicable deletion and retention processes.
  • ·We may retain only the minimum records required by law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution. Access is restricted, and the records are deleted or de-identified when the applicable purpose or retention period ends.
